What garage door repair costs here
Most repairs land between $180 and $520. Every range we charge is below. Across the competitor sites we checked in this market, one out of eleven publishes any price at all, which is a strange thing for an industry where the first question is always the same.

What changes the number
Door size first. A double door is heavier than a single, so the spring is heavier, the cables are heavier and the hardware costs more. Then whether the door has one spring or two. Then whether anything else was damaged before we got there, which usually means the opener was run against a broken part.
High-cycle springs cost more than standard ones and last two to three times longer. That matters here more than the averages suggest. In Union City 79.4% of owner households keep two or more vehicles and 39.7% keep three or more, and in Hayward 40.8% keep three or more. A door cycling six or eight times a day gets through a 10,000-cycle spring in four or five years rather than seven.
One legal point on openers
Since 1 July 2019, California Health and Safety Code section 19892 has required a battery backup on every residential garage door opener manufactured, sold or installed in the state, with a $1,000 penalty per unit. Our opener price includes it. If you're comparing quotes, it's worth asking whether the other one does.
How we quote
We tell you what we think it is on the phone, from what the door is doing. We confirm it on site. You get the price before anything starts, and that price is what you pay. If we find a second problem we stop and tell you the cost before touching it.
Questions about price
Is the $39 diagnostic charged on top of the repair?
No. It comes off the repair in full when you go ahead the same visit. If you decide not to proceed, the $39 covers the trip and the diagnosis and there's nothing else to pay.
Why do you publish ranges instead of one price?
Because a door is a specific thing. A spring is sized to the weight of your door, and a double door with insulation needs different hardware from a single. A single number we can't honor is worse than a range we can.
Do you charge more in the evening or on a Sunday?
The prices on this page are the prices, and a Sunday costs the same as a Tuesday. We work seven days, 7am to 7pm.
How do I know the quote won't change once you're here?
You get the price before any work starts, and that price is what you pay. If we find something else while we're there, we stop and tell you what it would cost before touching it.
