How do I check my door's balance?
With the door closed, pull the release cord to disconnect the opener, lift the door to waist height and let go. A balanced door stays put. If it drops or rises, the springs need adjusting.
What should I lubricate between visits?
Hinges, rollers and the springs, with a garage door lubricant. Leave the track dry, because grease there collects grit.
